This acrylic on paper composition is titled "Arboleda (Grove)" and is by universally acclaimed artist Hilario "Picasso" Pedregal. This piece is a break from his usually stylized figurative compositions into the world of stylized landscape painting. Pedregal portrays a grove of trees from the roots up. Pedregal is known for his precise color combinations and smooth paint application. His use of bright and lively colors reflect his life in the tropics. Hilario carefully layers his acrylic paints so that there is solid color without brushstrokes. This is done to mimic the luminosity of oil paint.
